Call of Duty 2

If you do a search on my blog you’ll find that I played the first Call of Duty and gave it high marks. I’ve had Call of Duty 2 for a while, but I never got a chance to play. I recently installed Call of Duty 2 on my new laptop and have just finished all the campaigns. This sequel is no different besides an overhaul in graphics and effects.
The game is split up to three different campaigns; Russian, British, and an American campaign. Each campaign is then split up to several missions which are fast paced and full of action. The game is relatively easy even when set to ‘regular/normal’ difficulty. As you get into the latter of the game the objectives may become a bit repetitive, but it’s made up by intense action and an increase in difficutly. The Call of Duty series are also released on consoles such as the Xbox and Playstation 2. I’m not certain if the gameplay or the missions are similar, but if it’s anywhere near this PC version then it must be a worthwhile game to play.
I definitely recommend this game to anyone who even has a remote interest in First Person Shooters let alone have a keen interest in World War II history. If you have a powerful gaming rig go straight for Call of Duty 2 as it very much similar in game play to the first one. Otherwise if you have a dated computer, you should get the first Call of Duty as the requirements for it is not as extensive.
New Photo Gallery
I recently got a new flash based gallery that I was able to embed into my blog. Not all the pictures have been transfered over to the new gallery. In the meantime, check out the new gallery by accessing the same gallery link on the side menu.
If you want to check out the old photo gallery, which I intend to update and maintain, it’s at www.firepowr.net/gallery
Cleaning House
If some of you guys were unable to access my blog, it was because Tinball Networks, a company my friend owns, who I greatfully appreciate is hosting my sites, was performing some maintenance on the webservers. The changes/upgrades enabled some backend feature for me, which is great.
I also had a chance to update this site a bit and cleaned up some links and organized my file structure for this blog. I also realize that on May 28th will be the one year anniversery for this site. It’s nothing to get excited about. To think of it, I didn’t even like the concept of having a weblog, having everyone in the world reading your stuff wasn’t my cup of tea. Well, my opinion’s changed, and I think it’s fun sharing stories, files, and plain ‘ol venting on issues that pisses me off.
Mission Impossible 3

This was one of those movies I couldn’t wait to see, and I enjoyed the two previous Mission Impossible movies. But I was a bit concerned as the movie was directed by J.J. Abrams who is famous for directing the popular TV shows ‘Alias’ and “Lost’. From the interviews I saw on TV Cruise himself described the movie as a ‘ride’ and I agree with him. This movie is loaded with action sequences with plenty of explosions. In this movie Cruise settles down from his covert spy occupation and is now engaged, but his settled-life changes when he accepts a rescue mission that goes wrong. J.J. Abrams did an awesome job directing this movie and can’t wait for his upcoming films he will be directing. There are a few other high profile movies coming out this May and their going to have a hard time competing with MI3.

Finally…Spring weather
It’s finally warm and sunny outside. The last few days were almost perfect for going to the beach. Summer is just around the corner, and I just can’t wait.
I’ve been busy with work lately and haven’t put in as much running as I wanted to, but I did manage to keep a steady diet, well sort of. It’s about two weeks now and I’ve lost about 8 lbs. That’s pretty good for the small amout of running I’ve been doing. I also started biking again, but it’s still not enough. Anyone living in South San Jose area should try biking up Silver Creek road coming from Blossom Hill, it’s a doozy. I’ve done it several times. It’s great if you want to get a good leg workout and if you want to sweat by the gallons.
What’s even more gnarly this week is that my laptop that I ordered came in on Monday. It’s a Dell XPS m1710. It’s Dell’s flagship gaming notebook. Mine is equipped with a Centrino Core Duo 2.0 Ghz, 2 GB of Ram, 17″ LCD, and last but not least, a the Mobile Geforce 7900 GTX. This laptop is so bad ass that it eats it other laptops for breakfast, figuratively speaking of course. To think of it, I have this awesome gaming machine with no awesome game to take advantage of it. I guess I’ll have to pick one up soon. In the mean time, I can load this monster up with some high quality porn. Just kidding… even if I did it would look great on this high contrast LCD screen.
I got the weekend off so I will have a chance to mess around with my new toy. With some luck, I’ll even have some time to put in some good running. One more thing before I finish this entry. Anyone been to Forbes Mill? It’s a steakhouse in Los Gatos. I hear it’s great. Maybe I can check that place out over the weekend, anyone up for it?

Conspiracy Theory: JFK Assasination
Event:
John F. Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas, Texas in November 22, 1963.
What the conspirators want you to believe:
Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone in the assassination. He alone committed this gruesome crime.
My Theory:
Lee Harvey Oswald didn’t act alone. He was a hired gunmen / assassin. Oswald defected from the U.S. and moved to Russia in the late 1950s. Where he applied his US Marine skills to Soviet military training to become a lethal killing machine. Once trained and prepared, the Soviets sold Oswald’s skills to Fidel Castro of Cuba. In retaliation of the Bay of Pigs invasion, Castro was going to use Oswald’s skill to assassinate JFK. After hearing what Castro was going to use Oswald for, the Soviet broke all ties with Cuba. The Soviet then sent a secret team to infiltrate to the US to cover any of their tracks that could be traced back to Russia.
Believing that Oswald was backed by mother Russia he continued with Castro’s plan. Unknowingly, the Soviet secret team and the Mafia has sabotage every step of the plan leaving no trace of any Soviet ties. Hence, in the end Oswald was killed the next day on live television by Jack Ruby, who has close ties with the Mafia and incidentally has a Russian military past.
Mountain Biking
My friend Malik and I hit up the Bernal hills today for some muddy mountain biking.
Note: Too much front brake for the camera hinders your steering.
Guitar time part 4
It’s another Incubus song. “Make Yourself”
Busy month
I’ve been quite busy this month with work and other stuff. I finally have a day off work tomorrow and hopefully I can catch up on some movies and enjoy a sunny weekend.
I got jury duty next week so we’ll see how that goes. This is my first time. I dont’ know what to expect so any tips and stories about your experiences with it would be appreciated :-D.
