Losing it…

People these days seem to be self-conscious of their physical appearance most notably their weight. There are new apparatuses being invented every six months and appearing on late night infomercials claiming to do miracles, and it only takes a few minutes of your time. There are diet fads that are so compelling that people actually believe that eating nothing but bacon and steak will actually make them lose those extra pounds.

The mentality of people is, “I’ll do anything to lose weight, as long as it doesn’t require diet and exercise.” When it comes to losing weight there shouldn’t be an easy way out. Forget the miracle pill. It ain’t going to happen. Just do what you’ve been avoiding; diet and exercise right.

Dawn of the Dead (2004)

dawnofthedead

This was to be the remake of George Romero’s Dawn of the Dead, but I wouldn’t call it much of a remake as the only thing relating to the original is that the survivors seek refuge in a shopping mall, but everything else is new. Compared to many of the older zombie movies, Dawn of the Dead takes a more serious note. The movie took some queues from 28 Days Later and pit the survivors against zombies that are quick and even sometimes nimble making them all more terrifying.

The zombie chase scenes are tense especially when the survivors are driving through a post-apocalyptic ruined city. This movie has one of the best intros and will keep you hooked til the end.

Kicking and Screaming

kickingandscreaming

Any movie Will Ferrel stars in is bound to be funny. Kicking and Screaming is no exception. Ferrel takes up a coaching job to coach a losing soccer team to compete against and to impress his dad, played by Robert Duval. With no knowledge of coaching, he gets help from football legend himself, Mike Ditka.

Will Ferrel does what he does best, being a goof ball, but in this movie Ferrel tones it down a bit and his antics aren’t has funny as his last couple of movies. If I can compare this movie to something it would be like Frank the Tank from “Old School” coaching the “Bad News Bears

Starwars Episode III- Revenge of the Sith

sw3

I can honestly say this is better than the last two movies from Lucas. I’ll also have to agree that this movie is much darker than any of the other Starwars movie. Revenge of the Sith really completes the series and leaves off where episode IV begins.

The dialog and acting in the movie felt a bit dull but it is made up by great looking effects and light saber battles. In the end, I wasn’t convince Anakin and Padme’s relatioship was strong enough in the movie, and the ending felt a bit rushed. Besides those complaints Episode III if fun to watch even if you aren’t a Starwars fan.

My First Blog

When I first heard about weblogs (blogs) I thought it was the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard of. “Who would want to publish personal stuff about themselves online?” This is what I would ask my friends who had one. I’ve never gotten a straight answer.

Anyhow, after seeing many other blogs and how interesting they were I decided to have my own blog but not to talk about my personal life but rather express my opinions. It won’t be as compelling and exciting as other blogs, but we’ll see.
