Avengers Infinity War

The hype is real.  10 years in the making with some great and not-so-great films leading up to the arrival of Thanos to gather all the Infinity stones to be come a god.  This movie can only be truly appreciated if you invested in previous Marvel movies. They somehow managed to squeeze all these star studded casts and characters without bogging down the plot or create some weird disorienting story line.  It’s hard to talk about the movie without spoiling it. All I can say is that I enjoyed the movie from the opening screen till the end credits.

The Amazing Spiderman

This reboot brings new life to the stale franchise. It definitely helps as Andrew Garfield nailed it at portraying Peter Parker/Spiderman.

If you’re a big comic book reader of the web slinging hero then you’ll appreciate this movie more than it’s predecessors. The Toby McGuire version of Peter Parker was too lame and boring. Garfield’s version is much more resolve and he actually has some personality.

Captain America

One of the most iconic Marvel Super Heroes has finally made it to the silver screen. Captain America, the future leader of the Avengers, battles Red Skull and a boatload of Nazis.

Fans of Captain America will love this movie, but what makes this movie standout compared to the other Marvel movies is that this film really focused on the character development of Steve Rogers. It’s not his super soldier powers that makes him such a likable guy, but it’s his unwavering integrity and loyalty to his country and friends.

If I had to fault this movie it would be that the second half of the film is not has solid as the first. Overall, this movie is fun and exciting and makes the upcoming Avenger movie more compelling.

X-Men – First Class

For those who are expecting this movie to be a true origins film of the X-Men you will be disappointed.  But that’s not to say that this movie is not good. In fact, it’s an excellent movie. In this film you see how Professor X and Magneto became the men they are in the previous movies and how the school for “gifted youngsters” came to be.  X-Men – First Class managed to do what the other X-Men films failed to do, it made it fun and exciting and keeps you wanting more.

Thor

The arrogant and mighty Thor is cast down by his father to live on Earth among humans for igniting a war with the ice giants. After learning about his father’s fate Thor must find a way back home to Asgard, but in order to do so he must find a way to recover his mighty hammer.

Chris Hemsworth plays an excellent Thor. And this is one of the better Marvel adaptations into film in a while. This movie is fun to watch and keep an eye out for some of the cameos that will be in the upcoming Avengers movie.
